STENCIL Laboratory with SAMINA

Directed to the classes of school EB 2, 3 Tecnopolis

December 06th, 07th and 09th 2021

The intent of the stencil workshop is to give participants the foundation for creating an artwork using the stencil technique. In addition, everyone will have the opportunity to participate in the creation and implementation of a medium-sized wall work applying what was passed on to them.

After a theoretical presentation on the technique, participants will perform an exercise in creating a stencil based on the same process used by trainer and urban artist SAMINA. The workshop intends to foster creativity and decision-making of each one through the application of the fundamentals acquired previously in a mural painting in the city of Lagos.

In short, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the technique, work together and apply it in an urban context.

SAMINA (1989, Setúbal)

From an early age he had contact with the art world, mainly with drawing and painting. At 14, he starts to spread stickers on the streets and thus enters the world of Street Art, discreetly.

For some years he followed the movement's growth and, as a self-taught person, he grew as an artist. It is during this time that he discovers the stencil, and in 2010 he feels capable of producing bigger and more consistent work.

Since then, Samina continues in the constant search for new stimuli and experiences in each work she does, combining her language with stencil techniques and graphic elements that come from her references in the world of street art, graphic design, painting and art. architecture.
