Synopsis

In this workshop we will address the theoretical foundations of screen printing, using examples of works by artists such as Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement, and we will present the materials and tools used, canvas preparation and inking, printing and cleaning the paintings. Participants will be able to experience the application of a direct drawing, through an alternative technique - the stencil - which will define areas of obstruction and ink passage on the serigraphic board, allowing an initial understanding of the technique. Finally, each participant will print their design on paper or on a piece of textile brought by themselves.

The objective of this activity is to stimulate creativity, understand the basics of the technique and the process of creating and cutting a stencil, through the stylization of the image and differentiation of the positive and negative of the same, and the (re)production of an image through screen printing.

Bio

Graduated in Painting from FBAUL (2010) and completed a Masters in Fine Arts (2012). He specialized in Mosaic, developed Installation projects and curated in different contexts. His work reflects an interest in the issues of technology vs genetics and nature. She is currently developing pieces that propose to question canons through the evocation of stereotypes, with particular emphasis on everyday objects associated with the spectrum of the human female – not in opposition to these, but in their (mis)appropriation. She joined the LAC collective in 2020, and since August 2021 she has been coordinating the Educational Service of the Association.
